Banded Mongoose (Mungos mungo)

The banded mongoose is found in the savannas, grassland and open forests throughout much of Sub-Saharan Africa. The banded mongoose primarily eats various invertebrates, amphibians, reptiles, and small birds. The banded mongoose is a social animal living in groups of up to 40 individuals and sleeping at night in underground dens.
